CID congresses are the largest gatherings of dance specialists, the best opportunity to showcase research work to a wide audience of practitioners. Approximately 400 professionals from 50 countries of the 5 continents attended last year; over 60,000 visit its website.

All forms of dance are represented.

Papers accepted from absentee presenters also.

This is an official event under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture, the National UNESCO Commission, the Region of Athens and the City of Athens.

The Scientific Committee  composed of university professors from 7 countries.

Languages  

Working language is English; other languages can be used without simultaneous translation.

Texts   

10,000 words maximum. Texts must be submitted prior to the congress to be included in the online proceedings; they can be accompanied by pictures, music or video samples.

Format   

Send your text according to the instructions in the menu "technical specifications" which exists in the website. Send also a printed copy or a DVD if you wish.

Deadline  

Send abstract prior to registration. Send full text at least one month before the opening day in order to be included in the program and the proceedings website.

Structure of texts   

Divide your text into sections, each with a numbered heading. Start with your name, the title of the presentation, an outline, then sections of your development of the theme. Conclude with a short presentation of the author in the same text.

Content   

A research report (or research paper) contains unpublished results of an original research project. It provides an objective and substantiated picture. It can treat the situation of dance in a country or a region. It can cover a particular form of dance (ballet, contemporary, ballroom, traditional etc.) or a sector (education, performance, scholarship, therapy etc.) at national or regional level. The focus is on giving facts or estimates, tendencies and needs. It is addressed to professionals rather than the general reader.
