In association with the AHRC-funded 3D3 Centre for Doctoral Training, Plymouth University is able to offer a range of funded studentships in the fields of digital arts, digital design, digital media and digital performance.
The department of Theatre, Dance & Performing Arts at Plymouth is therefore currently inviting applications for practice-led research into and/or through digital performance.

We're happy for applicants to interpret the term 'digital' broadly, especially in interdisciplinary areas that stretch our understandings and expectations of performance and discrete genres, and which align with our areas of supervisory expertise. These include the body in performance; performance sites, spaces and environments; lived experience and performance; and performer training.

3D3 students in Theatre, Dance & Performing Arts at Plymouth will be based in our new multi-million pound performing arts centre at the heart of the campus (opening October 2014). Although based at Plymouth, all 3D3 PhD students will follow a bespoke research training and career development programme which features at least one residential workshop outside of the UK.

3D3 doctoral studentships are open only to EU and UK applicants who propose to study either full time or part time. EU students are eligible for a tuition fees award only from the AHRC but in exceptional cases a stipend will be offered by the 3D3 consortium. For full funding details and eligibility requirements, please visit the 3D3 website.

3D3 research masters studentships are available for our full time (12 month) MRes Theatre & Performance and MRes Dance programmes at Plymouth. They are open to UK and EU applicants only and comprise, in both cases, tuition fees and a stipend for one year of £11500.

The deadline for applications for both the doctoral and research masters studentships is 28 March 2014.
